On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Dr. Kaoru Ishikawa it is most appropriate to preserve and communicate his legacy and exceptional contributions to the quality movement which has had substantial impact on industrial management in Japan and the rest of the world. His career spanned for five decades until April 16, 1989, the day he passed away, it is truthful that his illustrious career contributions have made a significant difference by advancing the progress in the modern industrial history of mankind.

Upon this milestone of the centenary of his birth we would like to reflect on what he has done and why, and how he has pursued his vision for the deployment of quality.

In this context, this project pursues two primary objectives.

  1. Transfer Dr. Ishikawa's achievements and philosophies to the next generations around the world.
  2. Demonstrate how his philosophies, ideas, methods and activities are relevant and effective for both today and tomorrow.
